I bought a MR bread maker last Oct. The unit was a display and I was told it still give a full warranty.
The Paddle is now broken and so got in touch with MR they replied...
Dear Hxxxxx Vzzzzz
Thank you for your email
As your receipt show the breadmaker you purchased was an ex display model the kneading blade won't be covered under the guarantee. A new kneading blade will be £8.60 including postage and packaging. If you have any further quires please quote reference M0999161.
Assuring you of our best attention to quality and consumer support.
Kind regards

Can they do this. Surly the cost of the paddle is covered by the warranty? Have I no warranty for this unit?
I have wrote to them (email) questioning this and have had no response what so ever.

Why didn't you go to the retailer instead of Morphy Richards?
The retailer is your first point of call.
You warranty will ONLY be from the retailer, as this was a display item.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Thanks for a prompt reply. I will take your advise on.0

The law makes the retailer responsible for the item. Generally speaking, approach the retailer first.
MR also appears to have also issued a guarantee of their own, separate and in addition to the retailers legal obligation."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0
