Beware Boncasters Autoaid
Hello all,
I thought I'd post this as I'm not terribly impressed with these guys. We've used the policy twice the first time went like a charm relatively, called them up and they sorted out a local recovery firm to come out and start my car after some muppet had put the wrong spark plugs in at the service. The call out time was more like 2 hours though not the stated 40 minutes. Claiming was fine however and I had my cheque within a few days.
The second time was horrible, this time my husbands car broke down a problem with the radiator we thought. DH calls Boncaster and is very rudely told by the operator that it's up to him to call around and find a garage/recovery firm to sort it out for him. Not really what you need when you're somewhere you don't know in the middle of nowhere! When you read the blurb they send you can either arrange yourself or they will do it for you. This appears to have escaped this particular operator. So we will be going back to the RAC who we've never had a problem with in the 6 years we were with them.
Sometimes I'd rather pay for peace of mind rather than worry about what will happen the next time we break down.

Hi,
I have used them for several years after finding them on this website. I have had no problems at all. Most recently I had a flat battery after returning to Gatwick after a 2 week holiday (not in an airport car park). They arranged a local firm to come out in less than an hour on a Sunday afternoon.0 -
I've used them for the last couple of years and have had no problems. Had to call them out last winter (flat battery), they came within 40 minutes, I paid £50 which I reclaimed within two weeks from them. All in all, I've had great service from them at a great price.'I'm as mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it....for much longer!'0

Your link is this thread! Why a 4 year old thread was resuscitated up yesterday is the real question.0 -

I have been using this company for 3 years and cant fault the service. In that time I have called upon them 3 times and have been very pleased with the timely arrival of the repair man and the quick repayment of the breakdown assistance costs from AutoAid (Boncasters).0
