Conditions of Sale etc. to add to Listing

Hi,
I'm quite new to selling items on Ebay. Can anyone out there suggest any text I should add to my listings re: conditions of sale etc.? I'm a private individual, not a business, by the way. Things such as condition, refunds, postage, and in particular confirmation of delivery/disputes claiming non-delivery are some of the areas I want to cover.

I don't want to include anything unreasonable etc., just enough to cover both parties so that everyone knows where they stand. And to protect against anyone "trying it on", scammers etc. Thanks.

Polybear.

You don't need any terms, my only one is that non UK buyers must pay me by paypal in sterling.

Sellers that put anything about lost items put many buyers off bidding, regardless of what you put if a parcel goes astray you are liable, so why bother saying anything and antagonising people?

Refunds are a difficult one, if something is damaged or faulty then you would probably have to replace or refund anyway, but if you put that in your listing you may well get chancers wanting refunds just because they change their mind.

I agree with Soo, as a buyer reams of conditions just annoy me and most of them are not enforcable anyway. Just be straight and honest with your listing and things will be fine 99% of the time. The other 1% are always going to cause you problems whatever you do.

Do not leave feedback until buyer has indicated they are happy normally by leaving feedback first. I have a small statement to that effect on my packing slip. Something like "Please contact me if you have any problems and once you are 100% happy with you your purchase if you would be please leave feedback I will reciprocate".
  • What I DO mention in my listings is

-everything I sell is a genuine manufacturers factory pressed/made item and that I have never and will never sell copies, bootlegs or fakes.
If you're selling CDs/DVDs I find this a useful point

-I only sell to UK or ROI (Please ask for ROI postage costs).
and of course set my seller prefs accordingly, but I do say that I may sell abroad but only if pre-agreed

-All items sold for over £20 will be sent by recorded delivery
and I point out the invoice will be sent with RD option only.

-I reserve the right to cancel any bids I feel are not genuine. and bidders with less than 5 history to contact me first
    just trying to safeguard myself

-Cheque payments require cheque to clear before posting
some bidders are stupid enough to think you'll post upon receipt!

-That I often use recycled packaging to be green
you'd be surprised how many bidders can get real arsey about this

-Buyes who wish to cancel a sale without good reason, will be asked to cover my fees as a courtesy
    this has never happened yet
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
