Samsung digital camera - white lines across pics??

Hello nice people :)
I have a Samsung S1070, which I got about 18 months ago. Never had a problem.
I tried to take a picture this morning - everything ok through the lens - but when the pic took and I looked back, white lines appeared. I turned the camera on and off again, and it went back to normal.
This afternoon I've tried taking more pics (of a lovely castle on hols) and the pics are super bright, with white lines. And they won't go away! I don't know if I've knocked the shutter speed?! I am very uneducated about such things.
Can anyone help? Is there a way to go into the settings and reset these? Or is it just broken.
I'm in the middle of nowhere for the weekend, so camera shop is a no-go for a few days.
Thanks xx
