https://www.one.com
free web hosting for 1 year with purchase of a domain name total £9
excellent people2 esa medicals passed successfully (support group - it can be done!!)!! :j0 -
I have to re-iterate Alan S's point here, what with all the other recommendations:
The 1&1 deal is a good price considering all the benefits it has.
For anyone else recommending another hosting solution, you would do well to specify WHY you are recommending another site, and how the package compares. Doesn't matter how cheap it is as you can get basic hosting solutions for free in several places.
When I see a basic recommendation, I just see "blah blah blah £9"0 -

Tsohost which I recommended earlier, have UK based servers and respond to supports tickets within minutes. Not days like 1and1 who are not UK based.

in that case then, one.com are offering their 90p a month package (3,000mb space, unlimited bandwidth, free google adwords coupon, php, mysql, good customer service (recommended) and unlimited email accounts for free for one year. to customers in the uk when you buy a .co.uk or .com (and various others) domain name through them for a total of about £8/£9.
they do a £1.90 a month package and a £3.60 a month packages. the only difference between all 3 is the number of webspace provided: 3,000mb, 10,000mb and 25,000mb respectively.
they are a large europe wide host that have been going for ages, with decent cs2 esa medicals passed successfully (support group - it can be done!!)!! :j0 -
Yes I've heard of them and can say they certainly know alot about ecommerce sites particularly OsCommerce. I think they use United Hosting servers as I do. Very good service, up time and friendly!best webhosting i ever used was terranetwork, decent prices if i remember, and the guys who run it really know what they are talking about, and technical query you have they will work it out quickly and get you working

I was with 1&1 a few years ago. Never again!
Their customer service was dreadful. Every time there was a problem with the server it took days to sort out and they always tried to dodge fixing it by saying it was my website that was at fault before they eventually sorted it out. Vey stressful.
I've since opted for smaller hosts who offer more personal, reliable and efficient service.Martin0 -
anyone any experience with ipage? thanks0
