In have to say I think their calculator is very biased.

I've been with my partner 20 years now.
We both have good careers and no money issues and enjoy lots of hobbies together.
We've had a few difficult times in the past with family circumstances and we've always supported each other.
I'd say their assement was complete pants to scare people into buying products they don't need.
I'd say 20 years and happy was pretty good.

96 Very Strong Probability: The news is not good. You’re amongst a demographic of people that have the lowest long term marriage success rate. What that means is that based on the factors that you indicated, there are many things in your life that significantly contribute to divorce and very few, if any, factors that contribute to a long term successful marriage. Does that mean you should never get married because you’re almost guaranteed to get divorced? Certainly not! Everyone is different and your circumstances may be completely different than someone else who scored much better than you. You may end up happily married forever after, but statistically, the odds are against you. However, now you know that based on the 20 factors we know have a significant impact on the outcome of marriage, you scored among the lowest level. That means that you likely have significant obstacles to overcome to ensure that your marriage stays healthy and strong. It will take a lot of effort on your part, but knowing in advance always helps. In your case, we very STRONGLY recommend that you adjust your budget to ensure that you can cover yourself against the unexpected. In any event, we wish you the best of luck!

First I have to say congratulations on 20 years of successful marriage. You may not realize it but only about 1 in 3 couples make it that far.

With regard to our Divorce Probability Calculator, while you may be an exception to statistics (and believe it or not there are many more divorces happening after 25 years of marriage than there were a generation ago) that doesn't mean our results are biased. It simply means that you've worked to overcome and/or avoid many of the issues that result in divorce for the majority of the general public based on Census data collected from more than 22,000 people over the last 15+ years. Again, a hearty congratulations.

In general, the odds are in your favor if you are:
    on your first marriage
you're Asian (they have the lowest incidence of divorce as a definable race) and you married someone of the same race
    you're employed
you make over £35,000 - see the UK version at 3w dot wedlockdivorceinsurance dot co dot uk
    you're older than 28
religion is very important to you
    you're well educated
    your parents are still married
you weren't a victim of rape or child molestation
you live in Armenia (they have the lowest rate of divorce as a country) - using the UK version
    you rarely argue
    you don't use drugs
you don't have a history of mental illness or depression
you didn't have children out of wedlock
he is 5 years older than she is
    you didn't cohabitate before marriage
if you have kids, the first was born more than 7 months after you were married
and neither of you had children when you were married

If you input those data points you'll find we're far from biased, besides which, we didn't create the data, we simply capsulize it for you. Considering more than 40% of families go below the poverty line after divorce, we think knowing in advance what your odds are is worth knowing.

Look around. Everyone knows someone who needs WedLock Divorce Insurance, if it's not you, congratulations, but send this post to someone you know who does.
