Shower plug cover..what do you call it

The plastic cover for my shower plughole that covers the shower trap has broken off from the cup thing that collects hair etc. I want to buy a new one but don't know what its called. Any plumbers out there know if I can buy just the cover and what its called or do I have to buy the whole cup/cover.

Thanks in advance

Jane

    Hair trap ? Grille ?

I would have thought most DIY shops would sell the various bits, failing that find your local plumbing factors ( Yellow Pages under Plumbing Supplies, often found on edge-of-town industrial estates ), I've always found they're great places for buying things not normally stocked by the mainstream retail outlets.

Either way, it's not going to cost much and it's a pretty simple job to replace it. Hope this helps.

Avoid the sheds - they'll only look at you in total incomprehension. Take the broken part to your plumbers merchant and show it to him. He's bound to be able to find something for you.

Probably need to buy the whole thing, sounds like a Mcalpine shower trap or similar though Mcalpines is made to be loose for easy access.
