Hi there, I work as an OT and we see lots of kids with it. I would recommend that you borrow or buy a book called 'the out of sync child' by Carol Kranowitz, it is very good at explaining sensory processing difficulties and gives really practical solutions.

More information is available from http://www.out-of-sync-child.com/

I am not connected in any way with Carol, just found the resources really helpful when I was learning all about it.
Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:

Hi i have a 2 year old son with behavioural problems and who constantly sensory seeks. He has to pick everything up and put it into his mouth, he does this for jigsaws and mr potato head but also things with different textures.

OCH gave us a bear hug vest which calms him down and we also have a weighted blanket, we have noticed that the weight etc makes a difference. I try to put weight in a backpack as this helps the sensory seeking and also slows him down so i can keep up! there are also things such as chewlery and chewy tubes.

Different areas offer different services and we have been lucky to get some extra help and support, i would look into local services and see wehat kind of things they can offer and help out with.

Thank you all for your replys, I have just never heard of "sensory seeking" but I am very pleased that she does not have anything really wrong, she is very happy and just proved to us that even though she has Hemiplegia and this sensory seeking that she can now pedal a two wheeled bike.which as a family we thought it would never happen, but it will take a lot of time doing the programme the O.T has given us to help, Once again, Thanks for your help.....
