Google.mail not gmail

I have just opened a gmail account but its google.mail and not gmail. Why is this?

because in the uk someone already had gmail registered and took google to court over it, so no gmail for uk customers after sometime last year.Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0

I love my spell checker, it stops me making all sorts of stupid smelling mistakes. :doh:0

I think if people send to @gmail.com it will still go through to you even if it says you've a @googlemail account
Might be worth checking.
My account was created before the change so I can't really be sure that what applies to my account applies to new accounts0 -
Just looked on my account which I have had for ages and it's a gmail account and I have sent a gmail invite to myself but it shows up as a googlemail account so anyone new who registers will be googlemail and anything sent to gmail will go through0

its just an email account with all the space your every need!
You have issues if you can fill up like 1 gig of space!0
