picking a different charity each month to give to !

after browsing through most of these threads without replying to most i would firstly like to thank everyone for all the usefull info i have received from you all.
and secondly i have noticed that there is a lot of people using this site for profit, ie buying cheap goods from info from other users and selling them mainly on ebay.
we all know this goes on and althought i havent got the time to do this myself i am open minded about this and hold no grudge or disrespect to the people doing this.
i would like to suggest that whoever does make a profit from goods listed on this site could give back to the site through a selected charity each month (like the post of the month where people put forward a charity).
if the persons who profit from this site could give just 10% of total profits to the selected charity i feel it would be only fair as there would of been no way for you to of made this money to start with.

Excellent idea vsumouse. Some people may have been put off giving to charity via ebay because the minimum donation used to be £5, however this is to be reduced to £2. Lots of things sold on ebay go for small amounts, so the £5 minimum was quite restrictive.
In October, ebay are going to encourage more people to give to charity by having a 'Give it up for Charity' event - basically to persuade people to clear out unwanted items to sell, either donating all or part of the proceeds.
Happy selling!
