IVA Abroad - Not getting anywhere
Hi all
Hopefully, someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.
I was living in the UK until around 18 months ago and now I'm struggling to keep up with my repayments in the UK.
I think an IVA is the best solution and I can afford to pay £200-£250 per month on debts of around £21000 which is around 70% of the debt (not taking into account the IP fees of course).
The problem I'm having is finding an IP that will take on my case. Living abroad isn't a problem for an IVA just finding a good IP who is willing to look at the matter. Most of the larger "debt management" companies are are either not interested or want me to do a debt management plan which would cost me over £4000 in fees and take nearly 9 years to pay off (assuming no further interest or charges were applied - and we all know that is fairly unlikely).
I can't go bankrupt as I share a mortgage in Australia that I live in and although there's not much equity in it, there would be enough for the OR to be interested I suspect. And to be honest, I don't really want to go bankrupt anyway. Remortgaging isn't an option either - lenders are too tight here at the moment.
So, over to you good folk - can you suggest any IP's that might be interested in assisting?
