I have a A&L bank account, so the wife has now also opened a account to get the 12% saver. She (as me) have A&L ISA's and got the usual acceptance email. However what has surprised me is that they have sent the cheque book, sort code, account no., ......etc and she hasn't signed anything. Is this something strange? Not too worried - its just that when I opned my account I had to sign an agreement after applying on the net before everything was sent

both my wife and I opened the A&L current account within the last 2 months(individually of course
). we have the cheque book, DC and overdraft etc and are using the accounts and very happy with them.
we DID NOT sign anything between us. i mentioned this in another thread and it was looked upon as quite unusual.0 -

...is nearly a years stoozing profit for me. And you've made it in 7 weeks! I'm definitely in the wrong game - or maybe I should play in both!pfpf's_signature wrote:Matched betting start date: 18/07/2006

Anyway, back on topic, here's the other thread that pfpf referred to...

When your wife signed the forms for her ISA originally part of the agreement might have been agreeing to any other accounts she might want to open further down the line. Therefore they wouldn't require any subsequent signature when the account was opened. This happened to me when I opened my Egg Money account, the fact that I'd signed with them several years before to open a savings account meant they didn't need my signature on paper again.0

neither of us had ANY A&L accounts prior to us opening current accounts.
:rolleyes:0 -
I opened a Premier Current account about 4 weeks ago and I did not have to sign anything either. I too thought this very odd - surely they need to keep a record of your signature on file in order to verify possible fraudulent cheques/DD or STO mandates?

Thanks to you all for replying - at least it shows my wife is not alone and we can get the deposit of £500 sorted to trigger the refer a friend scheme £50. Was just worried that without signing anything the account wasn't 'properly' open. However just checked online and her account is showing a balance of £0.00 so is defiantely ready for use. Thanks again0
