Dripping Shower

Any ideas would be great!

Our ensuite has a bath and shower. The shower head is constantly dripping.

When OH took shower head off he says there is water in the pipe connecting to it. In DS1's bedroom there is also an ensuite (shower cubicle). This ensuite is side onto ours and the plumbing is obviously connected.

OH swapped the shower heads over and the dripping is still there - is there anything obvious that stands out to anyone? - it's driving me mad!!

It is probably the washer on the control tap. The same as if a washer had gone on a sink tap.

It will have nothing to do with the shower head.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

The actual shower is behind the tiles on the wall, so all that is showing is the head, dial and taps.

On the dial there are 2 names Pisa & Bristan.

    Thanks for the help.

Being a DIY-phobe, do we just ask for new seals? How many are there? Are they fitted easily? Cost?

    Sorry....I did warn you!
  • You get a "service pack" or some similarly named product. This will usually contain a number of washers and seals, plus some silicone grease. "All" you do is take the shower apart and put it back together with the new seals. (It's easy for me to say that as I do that sort of thing as part of my job). If you are really unsure and don't fancy having a go, then get a plumber in, there's one in Warrington who may be near you :D

Any further help would be much appreciated.

Our shower saga continues....the dripping shower turned into quite a big leak that went under the bath and through the Living Room ceiling.

We called out a plumber who said it was the cartridge - so he ordered a new one and fitted it, however, when he tested it the shower had still leaked a little. Plumber investigated and said washer had gone and would order a new one from Bristan.

We waited a week or so and plumber rang to say that he had contacted Bristan as he had received no washer and Bristan said as we had been waiting they would send a new shower head, however when it came another week later, the head wouldn't fit our shower, as our shower is an integrated one and just a pipe comes out of the tiles.

We have tried screwing a fitting (sorry real diy phobe) that we thought all the standard heads would fit onto and bought a new head, however this sprays behind the bath taps and causes a leak under the bath.

The original plumber doesn't want to know, we have gone weeks without the shower, OH is no plumber and is worried that he is going to create further problems if he keeps messing about..............The original shower head is cracked, so a new washer wouldn't make any difference. We have paid parts and labour for the cartridge to be fitted, bought a new shower head and are still no further to having a working shower!

Could anybody please advise on how we find out the correct shower head...we have been to several plumbers merchant and they just look at OH like he is stupid (!) OR does anybody know a plumber in the Warrington area who will come and be able to (a) order the CORRECT head & (b) fit it.

    PLEASE HELP!

Are you sure the bath/shower area is sealed properly?

It sounds like there was an earlier version of the Pisa which had a fixed head, all you need to do is ask Bristan again and explain that your shower hasn't got the head they have supplied. Is this any help:
