broken arm work wont pay ssp

hello all, i have been giving a sick note due to me braking my arm... They have told me that i will have to claim ssp for the job centre because i only work 16 hour!
how do i do that, and how long does it take?

    Your employer has got it wrong. There is no minimum hours needed to be worked to qualify for SSP. There is however a minimum weekly wage, which is £97 per week at present. Are your weekly wages at or above this amount?

    If for any reason the employer cannot pay you SSP they have to issue you with form SSP1 which has to list the reason they cannot pay you SSP. You will need this if you have to claim Employment And Support Allowance from the DWP rather than SSP from your employer.

    thanks, i only get £92.80 a week so this is prob why they cant pay it. ive been on the sick on for 3 weeks and still havent recievedn the ssp1 form! i have been told i will have to claim employment and support allowace.

    im a sales assistant. I would still be working if i could. 1 my work place wont let me insurance reasons, and 2 ive got a pot on up to me shoulder and my arm is bent. so cant use that arm at all...
