Just recently I've noticed a couple of issues:
1) IE Ver. 7. Whenever it closes it gives a "beep" as if there's some problem although nothing is obvious. Any ideas why or suggestions to find out the cause of the beep.
2) Firefox Ver. 3.6.8. It appears to close OK but when I power down I get an error message saying it cannot be closed, do you want to close now ....etc. Again any ideas how to get rid of this situation.
I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 3. I've un- and re-installed Firefox without any effect and also restored to a point before any of this occurred without any effect.
Thanks.

If there is a problem with your Firefox profile, then it won't help to re-install Firefox as the profile remains and will be used again. Create a new profile and see whether it helps. Most of the times the problem is a corrupt profile or one of the installed extensions. You could also first try to disable your extensions one by one until you find the one which causes the problem or run Firefox in safe mode.0 -
Thanks. I created a new profile but no difference. I've been trying last night with disabling extensions and thought I had it with disabling a Webview extension but it seems intermittent now so not sure.
There was also a Neilsen extension that I cannot re-enable (greyed out). Any ideas on how to retrieve that or other ideas for the initial problems?0
