"Does anyone hire out their gorgeous gardens? "

Have you seen a garden that you like? ....... is it worth asking the owner if there is a possibility of hiring it.....I know it a totally different thing but my friend has a neighbour who every summer allows a garden party in her garden to raise funds for cancer research....sometimes if you dont ask...you wont get..and maybe if you speak to someone who cant help you they may be able to suggest someone who can....

Prices here seem quite reasonable!! Even for 80 guests in high season with all the trimmings is £7K! So you would be looking at a heck of a lot less!

I've just read that sports halls etc is not "you" but wherever you go you wont really need gardens for photos etc - most people get their posing shots done in the grounds of the Church. At least, the weddings I have been too?

Will look shortly for you. DO NOT GIVE UP! I have been wedding shopping for 3 years and on a renewed effort to look at venues last month, I somehow came across a fabulous place that I hadn't heard of in all my looking, right slap bang in my locale!

Things to consider - somewhere further away. You may want to spend £600 on coaches taking guests to and from reception venue, if it's an hour away that is not too far to travel in my opinion and you could save that on say, no corkage charges at the venue! And then you have doubled your prospective options.

I assume getting married in your local Church is a must?
    I love surprises!

I see! However this being MSE, there is always a deal to be done ;) Can you have your wedding on a friday in october, like I am doing? That meant our venue charges were dropped completely, and we haggled the per person costs too :D

I also think that there is some haggling to be done here - especially with the hindu side of the wedding - the venue would love to show that they offer more than just a sit down formal meal for weddings....maybe offer them some photographs for their marketing if you can arrange a good deal??

But I am also going with LEJC's idea - if you see somewhere you like - why not ask if they would let you hire it for your wedding? Maybe they've never thought about it before, or maybe they have been thinking about it - but didn't really know where to start...??
If you don't ask, you don't get...!!
Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??

I have found the cheapest way is not out of season, but last minute. My brother works as a manager in a top class wedding venue and recommended we get married there. "As if!" I scoffed, and he said there is always a deal to be done last minute.

The only problem is that you're not definitely going to have everyone there, or get the photographer of your dreams etc...

But somehow I haven't had a negative rsvp yet, my perfect photographer was available, nearly every venue could accommodate me, and gave me an absolute bargain price. It was out of season, this November but on a Saturday and I can't tell you how many venues were keen.

Do make it clear that you are very cost conscious.
