Dakota leather is standard on both 4 & 6 cylinder models. And as I mentioned earlier, the differences are less pronounced on the coupe than the saloon - but while you might consider the differences to be minor, if an option is missing that you want then it becomes significant. The OP hasn't indicated which options he prefers, which is why I suggested checking the spec list.

Apologies, i was looking at the saloon.

Thanks - I had a look at the BMW website and they seem to have a special offer, where you can get "free" navigation when purchasing a new coupe. I got a quotation from https://www.broadspeed.com for a new 320i m sport coupe (with a few of my desired extras), and they are offering it for £30k (saving of approximately £3k from list price). Presumably I can go to my local dealership and ask them to match or better this offer?

Am I right in thinking that if I went down the route of contract hire, as opposed to PCP, I should be able to get lower monthly payments?

Yes, get your local dealer to price match. They should be able to - or come very close. Thats what i did on my first 535d.

You can certainly try this to get them down to their best price. The times I've done it they've not been able to match but they will try so it certainly focuses their attention!

The benefit of PCP over PCH is that it is less stress and at the end you will end up with some equity. I think this is built in as standard -with my first MINI on PCH with a minimal deposit, I was out of negative equity within a year so even with slightly higher payments I knew already that I wouldn't have to quibble over dinks etc. I have a friend who has her lease car going back in December and she's been panicking since June! With PCH you have panic over the condition of the car when you hand back, you can't end the contract sooner than planned etc so it's a full commitment to keeping the car as mint as you can.

I think that £350 per month is really quite optimistic for a reasonably new BMW without a hefty deposit. Extras do add a lot of money to the monthly payments so you may well be better looking for something that comes with it all as standard then something where they are 'extras'. I found it with the MINI where I'd really specced up a Cooper hatch and then a year later bought a much more expensive Cooper S Clubman with the same deposit and repayments because what I'd bought was standard specs rather than optional extras. PCP quotes vary wildly with even slightly differing specs - it's all based on popularity and what value they feel they can guarantee at the end that affects the repayments. There's no reason with that kind of mileage that you shouldn't pick a high-miler and save some money that way.

Just comparing it to my MINI experience because it is BMW finance...

Anyone please? I need to finalise the car by this weekend. Many thanks

Did you get it sorted? What did you go for in then end?
  • Probably wont find out. As most people who come on here for advice never come back with the outcome...

I agree. Most help threads are left hanging with no follow up.

Sorry just seen this. No my circumstances changed so not bought a car yet. Will probably look into it again further down the line. But thanks everyone for your help.
