Ah right, I only wondered because last time I looked they werent available on the UK site. I'll try and get an alternative first I think, I'm going to the States next month and have heard Walmart and Target have some similar.

I think these look fab but I would never spend that much on a plastic box personally.
My MIL has a really really similar one she bought in a pound shop. I've asked her to keep an eye out for me and get a couple more.

My 3 year old son just loves playing with the one she has, and taking the little inner boxes in and out :rotfl:

What do people put in all the compartments?

Mine never take 5 different food items - usually only 2 or 3 items, so I think it would cost me more to put different foods in each pot.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Today my kids have got a pitta with ham halved in the big container, they have hm strawberry yogurt in the large lidded container, pineapple chunks in one of the small containers and cherry toms/carrot sticks/cucumber in the other - haven't used the tiny lidded container today. Sometimes I put choc spread init fot dipping fuit, or mayo/nuts/dried fruit.

You do have to be a bit creative about how you cut up sandwiches and rolls to get everything to fit.:)

Mine have got a tortilla spread with refried beans and grated cheese, rolled up and cut in half, some apricots in another container, home made banana cake, cucumber sticks and cherry tomatoes. I havent used the dipping container today either.

The thing is at each meal we are all supposed to have 1 each of the 5 food groups, dairy, protein, carbohydrate, fruit, veg. I dont always manage to get the dairy in as they dont like yoghurts and dont want cheese every day. Sometimes I put custard in. But they do have lots of milk at Breakfast and before they go to bed. Before I had the laptop lunch I know they didnt have the 5 food groups in their packed lunch, sometimes only 3 of them. You dont need the laptop lunch to make their food healthy though.

Yesterday mine took tuna pasta salad (made with natural yoghurt for dairy!), and a peach. Today they have soft cheese in a bagel, a yoghurt and some grapes.

Both days they have also taken an apple to eat at morning break. They just go loose in their bag or pocket as they are not supposed to open thier lunchboxes until lunchtime. School have had children eating their whole packed lunch at morning break, so they said any snacks must be kept seperate!

  • My kids only get 10 mins to eat their lunch so I think they would be challenged to eat their way through all the containers! Although I had to laugh - the school has sent home a list of ideas for healthy packed lunches and doh! just what OSers have been doing for years. You read it here first

  • I have noticed on the site they are at the good food show in Nov so i will go and get one then as i am there and save on P&P.

I think they look fab. I will look at them on the stand and buy 2 if they look as strong as they do on the site.
