Right, i am at abit of a loss, i am currently recieving Widowed Parents Allowance the inland revenue are aware of this and has been reflected in my tax code (NOW 135L)
My son is only two and therefore i am not working full-time, just declared myself self-employed to the Tax credits, i am recieving Housing Benefit and council tax benefit.
I have declared my WPA to housing benefit and Council Tax, do i need to declare it to Tax Credits, if so what do i class it as? Income? Taxable Social Benefits??
I dont want to get myself in trouble for not declaring it also i dont want to miss out on anything if i do declare and i dont have too.
If it was Jobseekers of income support i would declare it but this isnot a means tested benefit its something i will get until my son is 18 or i re-marry.
I will re-state i am not wanting to commit fraud by not declaring i just seems a grey area as its not a very common benefit/Pension Credit
Thanks

Yes you do.

You really must declare the widowed parents allowance to the tax credit office. It is a taxable income. They will take it into account immediately. Please do not be tempted to avoid telling them.0
