Viewing Sky

Hi,

What I basically want to to be able to do is view the output from my sky box (mainly Sky sports) onto a monitor. This is so other people in the room can watch terrestrial TV while I watch Sky a monitor.

I can take an arial from my Sky box and put the other end into the arial of another TV and view the contents no problem BUT I have a PC in the main room where the TV is so ideally I would like to watch it on the monitor instead.

NB My sky box is a few years old.

So a few questions: -
Are there monitors that will take RV (is that what a standard areial is know as) input?
If so can anyone recommened a 'reasonable' priced one.

OR is there anything else out there rather than a basic monitor that I can acheve what I'm trying to do on.

Thanks for any help.

  • What you probably need is a Tv card in your pc, this can be fed the sky signals and you can then watch them and record them on your PC.
Tv cards can be picked up quite cheaply these days.

    Thanks for the reply.

I thought the TV card was an option.

Just out of interest does anybody know a way of doing this with just the actually monitor i.e. A direct feed from sky using an arial to a monitor without using a TV card with the PC itself.

    Thanks Again.

    Mick.
  • The only way I know of would be to buy a TV with PC input, but this would be more expensive than a TV card and you wouldn't get the benefits (watching Tv in a window while you use the PC, live pause, record,EPG etc)
