sky tv link problem

Hi all, I have had a tv link thingy (or magic eye whatever you call them) in my bedroom for a while. It had worked perfectly for over a year then about 4 months ago my picture on my bedroom tv developed diagonal lines on most channels. We tried rewiring the cable in the sky+ box downstairs incase anything had worked loose but it made no difference. The odd thing is that sometimes the picture is fine and then for no apparent reason it will just distort.
