Parking at Luton Station or the outskirts of London

I'm planning to go to London for the day in a couple of weeks. I'll be driving down from Bolton near Manchester and I've been looking at various options as to where to leave the car and get the tube/train into central London. The best option is looking like Luton Rail station. The parking looks cheap and the trains frequent. Does anyone know if I'm likely to get a parking space if I get to Luton about 10am on a Saturday morning, or if I'd be better driving further into London and parking at Cockfosters or one of the other TFL park and rides in North London.

Any advice would be great.

Drive a bit further to Junc4 of M1 and park at Stanmore Station or in side streets there.

Check TFL engineering works to ensure Jubilee Line is running on your day(s).

Info on all tube station carparks.

Luton Airport Station will be better than Luton town station.

    Or park in Westminster!

Parking on St George's Drive (SW1V) is free on Saturdays and no congestion charge to pay - Victoria tube/station is 1 minute away.

I think most of the streets in Pimlico are free on the weekend...
  • you can go to Brent Cross and park for free in the shopping centre car park and walk to the tube (it's not far). You used to be able to park for free at cockfosters but they started charging at week ends a few years ago (we used to do it)
Nothing to see here, move along.

If you choose Luton then use Luton Airport Parkway. The station is sign posted from the M1 at juntion 10 and is much better car park than the town centre and much easier to find and get to from the M1. There are always loads of spaces in the modern multi-storey so just turn up!
