Ooh that would be fantastic, everyone would be in the party mood anyway, and imagine that snog you'd have with your OH at the stroke of midnight!

It would be a New Year you'd never forget, put it that way!

Hope you have lots of fun planning ~ is it this year or next you're getting married? x
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • This year! Except i have been very laid back on my organising and am slightly concerned i am overlooking something!!
Also, it is not the cheapest day to get married and OH has had a blowing pay cut leaving us 4k short of our already squeezed budget (we are only having 40 to the day, family and attendents only)!! Not including honeymoon :o(
So the mission is to make 1k a month?!
Maybe we could charge the evening guests as they normally pay for party tickets lol!!
  • Also i am looking for quirky countdown ideas for midnight.....????

Wow what a brilliant party that'll be...I'm already seeing the 'When Harry Met Sally', stars twinkling, snow falling moment
(Linda, can I be your plus one???)

I love the idea! We are the day before halloween and there is so much scope there!

It will be amazing! Lot's of proper party music!

    Hi burnadebt!

You are not alone, we are also getting married on new year's eve!

Sorry to hear it is costing you more, with the exception of the band, we have managed to either get a discount or extras from people as it is not a day they would normally work.

Lovely idea. We thought how lovely it would be to start the new year as a married couple but we wanted a summer wedding more. I'm sure it will be lovely.

I wanted to be a New Year's Day bride but the venue we've gone for wasn't available :( Other venues said it would more than likely cost us more as it's a Bank Holiday (although one guy admitted that while he'd 'have to' charge us double, he doesn't pay his staff double - if that's not the best way to talk yourself out of a sale, I don't know what is?!?)
