Card Protection Plan Renewal

I ticked the box which gave me CPP when I applied for my Egg Credit Card on the 03/08/2005 for the period of a year.

I recieved a letter yesturday saying:

Renewal date: 27/10/2006
Collection Date: 24/10/2006
Amount: £29
Length of policy: 1 year

What does all this mean?
I want to cancel the CPP, can I cancel it now? or do I have to wait till the renewal date and then cancel?
It says I get a 14-day cancellation period from the start date!

The card is my first and only CC.

If they haven't taken payment then you can still cancel it. Just ring them up and say you no longer want it (ifs thats what you want to do)

Also if you phone up to cancel you may want to mention that you can get the same policy through Nationwide for £12!! As there are only a couple of companies that do these policys they may even match the price

I've already done a year, they sent me a letter of renewal. I'll give them call tomorrow.

I'm a n00b when it comes to stuff like this, I only got the card because I had no money for 6weeks and I haven't used the card in months.

I had a call from a card protection company a couple months ago which I think was the same company (I can't remember) and the woman on the end was wanting me to take out a policy for my cards and was really pushy so as always withy pushy people I played dumb and gave her stupid/smart answers to her questions then pretented to not understand her and hung-up.
  • Well I just called them and the guy did try to make me stay by saying I'm lose all my money and stuff, which I know may happen.
It seemed pretty easy, I did ask for a letter of confimation that is was cancelled.
