I cant take it to work with me, its a car journey, then sitting on a train then a walk. And its not light. I suppose i could spread it out.
If you take could take a small carrier bagful a day, you'd get through it quick enough. If you ever donate money to charity, try doing a rough count of what they'd be likely to make from your donations, and you'll find you're actually giving a lot for a little inconvenience. If it's still too much trouble, depending where you are, there should be at least one charity shop in your area which will uplift donations in the evening - you could trying phoning round the charity shops in the Yellow Pages.
There's always eBay, but that still means having to get to a post office during opening hours, so that might not work either.
  • It's worth calling one of the shops local to you to see if they could send a volunteer to collect it.

Some of the shops have their own vans, which are usually used for bulky items, but can collect other items.
for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.

One of our local charity shops (which has a chain of shops across the city!) will come and collect, so it's definitely worth phoning to ask if any of them will.
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • Or you could always get your colleagues at work to bring in their own charity donations to add to yours, and make it more worthwhile for a local charity to come and collect everything.

Most large supermarkets have areas where there are recycling containers and these often have ones for clothes and shoes, round our way they seem to be Sally Army. So you could drop them off next time you go supermarket shopping.
