State your suffering financial hardship and send them a letter + SOA explaining you're a single mother on benefits with dependants and damage your credit file with an AP for seven years just to see if nearly a decade down the line you can retain the same APR on a closed account that (in your case at least) you'll have in all probability paid off by then anyway? Well there's an exercise in bite-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face futility if ever I saw one.

Besides tracker rates on a new mortgage from mothers bank would be 2.19%; a far cry from the 3.79% she's paying at the moment. Not to mention would also prevent her from having to sell the house within the next 18 months... You really haven't understood the point of this thread atall have you?

No not really,don't have a clue about about mortgages and that..
