Vent & Warning! Mobile Phone charges!

Well,
I have been with Orange for a few years now and have found them to be an OK company to be with. I suppose they're all samey. I travel quite frequently all over the world, and any time that i have used my phone abroad I have obviously had to pay the charges, which I thought were fair, for the destinations I had visited. That was of course, until i received my last bill! I visited Mexico for the first time. I used my phone minimally, turned off my roaming. I expected a higher bill but not the extreme! I rang orange to ask if there was some kind of mistake. a 3 minute 10 second call cost me £7! and a 4 minute 4 second call cost £8.75!
The call charges from Mexico (Now I know...) are £1.75 a minute, meaning that the few calls I made back home on my holiday cost me 2 and a half times what my Phone bill costs me in the first place.
I thought they were trying to make a fairer pricing rule for holidaymakers?
Anyone else had this trouble before?
I know this has probably been said before, and I bet some of you are thinking 'It's your own fault' What do you think?
