Painting soil pipe - what paint?

I've got to paint our soil pipe as it's in a dreadful state, all the current paint peeling off etc. I assume that I use metal paint but they only type I've seen is Hammerite, however, it is expensive for the size pot you get and the pipe is big!
Is there a good quality alternative I can use?
Cheers, Birdy

Regular No drip?, I see many people on this forum use regular oil based paint for their garage door so I can't see why it will be different on a soil pipe.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!
