Why do you need to give up your job? are you single or married? do you have dependant children? do you have savings? do you own or rent your home?0

Is there any reason as to why you would be giving up your job?*SIGH*0

If you just gave up your job you could claim JSA but you will be sanctioned for up to 26 weeks. Is it really worth it?0

I don`t blame you for wanting to give up your job, but you do have to ask yourself, have you made enough contributions to your state pension and unless made Redundant, I think you have to wait 3 months to get JSA and could you live on £63 a week?
The other point to note is do you own your house, have savings, or in Rented, as all these affect things.0 -

You do NOT have to wait 3 months to claim JSA-(never have had), BUT if you leave your job without good reason, you can have JSA disallowed (only after it has been put into payment)
for up to 26 weeks, depending on the circumstances. However a claim should be made from the 1st day of unemployment. Even if it is disallowed you may still claim under hardship rules.0 -

You don't have to wait 3 months to claim JSA (never have had to) and you MAY have benefit disallowed for up to 26 weeks depending on your reason for leaving. This only starts once benefit has been paid in any case; and you should always claim from day 1 of unemployment0
