subsidence or not???

Hi,

A few years before we purchased our house the previous occupants put in a bay window which extended the lounge by about 1.5m with the width being about 2m. Recently i have noticed cracks appearing in the brickwork around the bay window. From my inital investigation it looks like the footing they built was too small to incorporate the window so they simply put a load of concrete around the correct footing to extent it by a few inches so they didn't have to get a new window built. There are no cracks in the house, simply just a crack about 3mm around the middle of the brick work.

Would my insurance company DirectLine class this as subsidence? I would prefer not to call them just in case they mark it on my account.

Thanks

James
