non paying bidder from ages ago wants strikes removed

I sold a load of stuff on ebay 3 months ago and had a few items that were not paid for. I raised disputes with ebay and won both. Today I have received the following mail from one of the bidders through my private email - not my ebay account:

hi ebay have asked me to email you asking you to remove a unpaid item strike on my account as its suspended and ask me to contact you to remove this your side please dont mean to be any trouble but i cant email out of ebay due to this matter was months ago someone had hacked into my account and bidding on loads of things ive only just fount out and going mad so i need these lifted ive had to channged all my details due to this my ebay name is samantha0208 was for a dry fit nike top size 8 i think that what it said

I'm tempted to either ignore or tell her tough as I have no way of verifying her story - and why should I have to!

Please can I have some opinions from some more experienced sellers than me as I haven't been selling long myself?

    Ignore !

They deserve that just for their poor English !

Seriously though, ignore ! Don't get into discussion and don't be rude - so easiest to ignore !
Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

I agree, just ignore the email, delete it and forget it.

You get these sob stories all the time, we even get them on here 'I am so clever I bought 10 items and only paid for the 5 I liked best and got suspended 6 months ago but now i desperately need my account back'.

Ebay is better off without buyers like that.

  • I agree just ignore it, I had this once the man even phoned me up as he said it was his son that had caused the problem and he needed the ebay account restored blah blah blah, I just called ebay and they sorted it. We don't need ebayers who don't look after their accounts.

As above just ignore them. They have realised now the consequences of non paying!

I had the same and still had some of the item (faddy thing) and told them I would be only too happy to remove it when they paid for the item.

For their lack of punctuation and inability to construct a decent sentence, I'd ignore them.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Thanks OP I have blocked them just in case they manage to get their account reopened.
I also would just ignore them as they are just begging you so they can get back on ebay and ebay is better off without buyers like this.
  • I often get the "I want to bid but I have some strikes that were unfair/unjust/I was ill/my cat died/I died/I was abducted by aliens.

Sometimes I cannot resist a smug reply. :o
