Car Insurance???

Can anyone explain to me why it is that when I go to apply for insurance online, it works out to be cheaper on my provisional licence than if I put it on a full uk licence? Plus would the insurance have to be renewed once I pass??
Thanks

As a learner driver you are (with most companies) demmed a lower risk as you are being supervised with a more expieranced driver, that is all there is to it.
Once you pass, the insurance is pro-rata'd, so for instance if your insurance is £1200 per annum as a provisional driver and £1500 with the full UK and you had 6 months on cover as a provisional driver and then passed, you would owe the insurance company £150.Target- clear £1000 student overdraft by Jan 11
