Quinn Car Insurance

Hi Everyone,
I'm wondering where I stand on an insurance policy I 'dont' have with Quinn.
I took out there car insurance on 22nd March of this year but then phoned to cancel it 2 hours later as I had a better quote. I was told I would have to pay a £30 cancellation fee which I agreed to. I was told I would still receive my proposal form and direct debit confirmation as it had already gone into process, but all I had to do was send it back saying you want to cancel it.
I sent it back on the 31st March, the day after I had received it all, and thought nothing more of it. Then today I was checking my internet banking and noticed that Quinn had taken out the following:
24th March - £192.55 / 22nd April - 22nd July: £77.03 a month.
That amounts up to £320.67 they have taken from me on a policy I had cancelled on the phone and by post. I plan on calling them first thing tomorrow to ask for my money back (minus the £30 cancellation fee), I was wondering has anyone else had an issue like this and what was the outcome?
Thanks guys.

I imagine many people have had a similar experience as Quinn are one of the worst motor insurers in existence. That was a lucky escape you had there in cancelling it.
Just ring them and politely explain that unless they issue your refund by CHAPS transfer then you will raise a complaint and are aware of your right to refer complaints (after a certain amount of time or after the insurer gives you a final response) the the FOS.0 -
Quinn are absolutely skint now, I thought they were only reinsuring people in Ireland.

For younger drivers and provisional drivers I'd recommend Admiral.Target- clear £1000 student overdraft by Jan 11

I actually calculated it wrong, it was £500.67 they owed me.
So I called them up this morning and explained the situation. After 5 minutes of silence and button bashing on her keyboard, the arrogant witch then informed me that my policy was still waiting to be cancelled. Seriously, 5 months after I had cancelled it and still nothing has been done, how many cancelled poilcy's must they have to have a 5 month waiting list!!!
I've been told I have now been put on high priority and they will refund any money taken from my account. Should I call them back on Saturday morning asking for my money or wait and see if they get back in touch with me?0 -

Also worth bearing in mind that it has taken you 5 months to notice that they have being taking money from your bank account.
