    Thyere was no finance as it was a cash deal. It was definitely from EH and the reason given was for the history check.

    Same as "booking" fees on a mortgage. Utter cobblers but largely unavoidable. Just factor them into the total cost.


    Totally avoidable, just go elsewhere.

    Last time I bought a car, the dealer was going to add all of these extras on top at additional costs, some of which they said was essential. I said to them "I will only be paying the price displayed on the car and not a penny more. Try and sell me anything extra and I'm walking".

    You have to be firm with these people, as the others said, they'll do anything to get more money out of you. Remember, you're the one with the cash - if they say you need to pay this or that then just wave bye and walk out the door.
