My wardrobes smell
I think it's cos I keep my shoes in them? But it's got so bad that the upstairs is getting smelly too. My clothes are all clean, so it can;t be that.
What can I do? It's embarrassing and smells like my house is dirty when it isn;t.
I thought it was the bed but having aired it and Febrezed it, it's not. It's the wardrobes or at least their contents.
Any ideas?

Talc powder in the shoes, might help. I'm sure my Mum did this to my shoes when I was little.
Do it outside though as the stuff goes everywhere.0 -
put bicarb in the shoes instead of talc as the bicarb soaks up the dampness but talc wont and tis cheaper lol

sprinkle all your shoes with bicarb leave overnight then whichever shoes you are going to wear empty the contents (bicarb) into another pair. i do this with the trainers my boys wear and leave in the porch after 3 to 4 days empty all shoes contents into the dustbin under the bin liner so the bicarb freshens the bin too. glad to help skintchick

The bicarb works a charm, the other thing I'd suggest is an orange pomander, I made a new one tonight, (well I started to and I ran out of cloves)I'm planning on christmas hampers and was toying with giving everybody one; take an orange, wrap a ribbon round(like you do when tieing a present with string) stab it and cover it completely with the cloves and it smells fantastic, the smell lasts for years, the last one I made still smells great and it's comming up 6years since I made it, My friends mother was given one when she got married by a child she taught, 35 years ago and she still has it freshening her wardrobe! Hope this helps
