I didn't realise custom made could be so reasonable.

I've just been looking at thread that frannyann started about winning a wedding dress and while I was on it I was having a nose about the comp's site.
OMG. :eek:I didn't realise wedding dresses could be custom made for such a reasonable price, had I known I almost certainly would have had a custom made dress.
For those that are curious it says...

Bespoke need not be the dream option which requires the big budget. Our gown prices start from as little as £350, so to guarantee you receive a unique, hand crafted gown, we recommend early booking as we fill our diary quickly.

I know!! Makes you wonder why anyone would go through the stress of buying from China, when you can get custom made here for a similar price!!!:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:0 -
I am still in shock! I've seen your work and reviews before Linda and was assuming I would need £800 plus to get me something nice.
I am really kicking myself now for not having asked before! I loved my dress but if I could've had custom made there would have been no issues with the grating sequins, no bones buckling because they were too long for me! Drat, damn and b*gger.Bump due 22nd September0 -

I called one of the custom dress makers advertising in one of the wedding magazines and was quoted 'at least' £900 - I was like 'off to china then'. Now I am getting in touch with Linda to see what can be done to sort out the mess...0 -

my post bubbles. Easy to assume why many people charge what they do but in all fairness, I have no idea but can only assume shop premises/overheads etc have to be accounted for somewhere.0

i am taking all my fave bits from 3 designer dresses and having them made in to one. £475 i think (or 495) can go cheaper with the fabric or all in silk for 600 which is still half price to a shop dress.0

Yep, and no alteration charges which can add up to £100 in some cases. :beer:0
