I went to a local shopping centre today as it has a 99p shop that I've never been in and a Wilko's.
Didnt get much but am going back again tomorrow. I was a bit careful about buying things because they were a £1 only to find out later that they are less than that elsewhere, if you see what I mean lol
Today I got
2 x Colgate Navigator toothbrushes (£2.74 each in Tesco!)
1 box microwave popcorn (contains 3 packets)
1 tube gold hair gel (£4 in Boots)
I'm going to get a cheap kids DVD for each of my kids and put a packet of popcorn on top and tie with a bow.
So, what have you got from the £1 shop for stocking fillers?

99p stores has some great stuff, well better than poundland IMHO:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Poundland:
30 of those long tiger balloons (blow up to about 2 foot) that shoot round the room screeching
nice teddy
good quality metal torch
tons of stationery
loads of pass the parcel/party goodies
We always make a festive pass the parcel - there's a small something for each child in every layer - one layer will just be say a handful of choc buttons, the next layer a ruler and pencil for everyone etc til the middle. Sometimes there are activities in every other layer for all the children to do eg jump up and down 10 times, growl like a lion etc Then in the middle either party hooters, screeching balloons etc for everyone or a card saying where your prize is hidden (costing £1 each from the £shop of course!!)0 -

I don't know which bit of Bristol you're in, tiff, but I think there's still a Hypervalue down in Fishponds. The one closest to us (in Longwell Green) shut down over the summer, along with the 'What!' shop next door. These have been the source of all my cheap Christmas pressies (and virtually everything else besides
) over the last few years, so my heartbroken and now more poverty-stricken self is looking for replacements. There's a pound-type shop that looks OK by the Clock Tower in Kingswood, which might be worth investigating if you're at all close by, and one in Staple Hill too.
By the time I've covered half of Bristol, it might just be cheaper to stay home and shop onlineEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
Lol, I'm in Brislington, I used to go to that What! store, never been to hypervalue. I'm sure Bedminster must have a pound shop somewhere too.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
