MBNA upping minimum payment

In the post this morning was a letter from MBNA.
It seems that the minimum payment is going up from 2.25% to 5%. This isnt something that will affect me as I'm looking at paying twice the minimum payments on cards as a minimum but it might affect others.
The reason given is to cover any payment protection, fees or charges. I have none of those, so I wonder why this could be..............?
