Samsung MP3 problems

Got a 2nd hand MP3 player which is visible when i click on computer and then MP3 player. Downloaded it's drivers on first USB connection.
Samsung Q2-JCB 8gb.
But when i use Emodio ( downloaded off web, not via the usually supplied CD) or Windows Media Player and MediaMonkey,
the MP3 player is not detected.
I can only drag or copy files in using normal windows, but would prefer to use audio media software.
Any suggestons.
