Many ill peple work. Having an illness doesn't prevent you from working.
Untrue.
It totally depends on the illness.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
 Which is what I said.
Not really, you saidHaving an illness doesn't prevent you from working.
you did not qualify that some illnesses will prevent you from working, it was a blanket statement that having a illness (ie any illness) will not prevent you from working.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

stazi is correct, if you fail the PCA medical on IB then when you claim ESA they won't pay you until you've had an ESA medical which you are unlikely to pass as it is much tougher than the PCA medical.0

Yesterday i found an 0800 number for benefits enquiry help (CAB) and i was told that i should be on ESA assessment rate just now. It was too late to speak to DWP so i'll be phoning them on monday0

Sorry bobo09 the CAB advice you were given is incorrect - you would not be on the ESA assessment rate - the rules changed from 28/6/10. Please read my earlier post #17.
