Laptop - Formatting Problem, Reinstalling XP Problem.

Options
Right give you a quick overview of the situation:

My girlfriend is trying to clean up her old Asus Laptop that is running XP at the moment. The system is currently running in Danish.

We are wanting to format and clear everything from the Laptop and convert it over to English.

She doesn't have any of the original discs but i have got a Windows XP CD from parents Computer, English version.

Can someone else us out to clear the Laptop and get it running the English XP version ASAP.

I have been getting very :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: with it not wanting to work today!

Thanks i need a :beer::beer: after a day trying to sort it out!

Maybe you can explain what you mean by "not wanting to work"? The XP CD is from which make and model of PC?

Well all the guides say when you restart the laptop with CD in the drive it should prompt the laptop to go into boot mode when it restarts, but this does not happen!

The CD came with a Dell PC

No, if the CD is bootable, you will still have to hit Enter when you see 'Boot from CD' or similar.

But indeed, you appear to have an unsuitable CD. I could try to instruct you.....

Do you have a Certificate of Authenticity on the laptop? For which version of Windows?
