Domestic and General - should I kick off with them?

Bought a Samsung vacuum cleaner from Comet last October. It came with a 5 year parts and labour guarantee at standard. I have the warranty card in my hand.
Today, I get the (Comet badged) standard mailshot from Domestic & General saying thay my guarantee is about to expire, blah, blah, blah, and to spend money with them to extend it.
It categorically mentions the warranty expiry date being 16th Oct 2010 - this is plainly untrue. I'm in the mood for a fight, is it worth pursuing with them? Is it almost fraud on their part? Obviously someone who doesn't have my (freakishly!) good memory could quite likely sign up and then pay for something they don't need.
Any thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks for the reality check. I'm normally a really placid person but these Domestic & General letters always wind me up, and I know they shouldn't.
I just really fancied giving them something to think about for a change.0 -
I doubt you're going to change how they operate with a phonecall.
Just ignore it it's not worth wasting your time.0 -
Probably a system bug, where the item triggers as a 1 year guarantee.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
