Does anyone know if the shoe wheels have a covered side, or are the shoes open to the elements, as it were?

Im not sure about all makes and models but on this one for instance there is a little vid showing how to use etc.. and you can see that there is a clear plastic covering on the sides. http://tszuji.co.uk/shoe-wheel-rakku/

A big heap in the hallway seems to be the favoured method in our house ...

I do have a hanging cube into which I put several pairs in the same 'hole', and a hanging shoe holder but I don't find the compartments on that big enough.

The only thing which ever 'worked' for us was an over the door rack, each shoe got hung up on its own metal attachment. It went on the outside of the downstairs loo door. When we moved, the loo door opened inwards, and the smell of cheesy feet wafting into the loo when you opened the door was too much ...

The sides of the wheel are covered its just the bit that you pop your shoe through that aren't. I have the Raku one but I got it cheaper off ebay.
  • Hi cattkit I actually bought 1 of the under bed shoe bags from Tszuji as well as a shoe wheel. Use the shoe wheel for my day to day shoes and flops and have my winter shoes and hiking boots stored in the bags (although weather keeps up will need to get boots out soon :( The bag is very sturdy and every compartment divider is attached by velcro to the bottom of the bag so avoids the problem you have with others with all your shoes ending up in a pile at the bottom of the bag.

They do have some really good quality shoe storage. The bamboo and chrome racks caught my eye - well worth the look.
