Favourite shoe storage method?

I'm looking for storage for 10-20 pairs of shoes.

There's a "As seen on TV" bag that holds 12 pairs, but that's useless. The "compartments" aren't sewn to the bottom of the bag, so the moment you lift it/move it in any manner other than gingerly, they all fall about to the bottom of the bag in a muddle. Rather defeats the purpose of the compartments, and I'd be better off with a big clear plastic sack!

I'm eyeing up some clear plastic shoe drawers as they
- stack without sliding about
- offer the functionality of drawers
- are clear, so I can theoretically see what's in the drawers without going through the lot to find a shoe
- being a drawer, theoretically protect the shoes from dust
http://tszuji.co.uk/shoe-drawers/ - rather pricey, though.

Does anyone have any shoe storage methods that they're really happy with, that allows easy perusal and access to shoes when trying to match them to new outfits? Thank you.

Can you store them under your bed?
I have something similar to this-

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8755711/c_1/1|category_root|Home+and+furniture|14417894/c_2/3|14417894|Storage+and+shelving|14417975/c_3/4|cat_14417975|Shoe+storage|14417996.htm?_$ja=tsid:11527|cc:|prd:8755711|cat:home+%26+furniture+%3E+storage+and+shelving+%3E+shoe+storage

I find it works great for me but obviously only good if you have a bed that allows it.

    hth :)
  • I have several shoe storage methods. I have an over the door shelf thing for some of my heels, I have some of those clear acrylic
boxes for the very expensive ones and a shoe rack in the top of my wardrobe allows me to fit more into a small space. I have an under
the bed case for summer/winter shoes (depending on the season) and a hanging rack in a cupboard for flip-flops and flats. My dream is to have
    a shoe room!

Jenibob, are the compartments in the those storage units "fixed" to the bottom of the case, or can they be lifted up from the bottom of the case?

BellaDonna, what do you think of the clear acrylic boxes? Can you see the shoes clearly through them, and are there any annoying features about them?

They are fixed to the bottom of the case.

Ooh Dont tempt me with one of those shoe wheels glowgirl- i've wanted one for ages! May have to try entering one of the comps :)

I too dream of having a shoe room!

I've also just seen this- http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/home_and_garden/storage_and_shelving/clothes_storage/114060802_tu_solid_pine_canvas_shoe_storage_unit.html?Affiliate_ID=googlesp

    I have one, its HUGE!

And I still have to have clear plastic shoe boxes from B&M Bargains. I must have about 100 pairs of shoes :o.

I have 2 of these in my cloakroom. They are quite narrow so don't take up much space and I get loads more pairs of shoes in them than it says. Because they are quite narrow it is difficult to get boots in them unless you fold the length of the boot up. I get loads of comments on them when people visit the house.

I've got a wheel - it's awesome. It's the easiest way to see my shoes while in storage that i've ever found - doesn't stop me buying even more shoes though :P

I was going to buy that JML shoe storage bag but thanks for the review, won't be touching that now!

That wheel looks really cool, sorry I don't have any better shoe storage ideas, could do with some myself tbh.
