Where do I stand?

We bought a car at the end of July. Happy with it apart from a few niggles. After we came home found the aircon didn't work (thinking it just neded re-gassing) & the passenger window didn't open only with the switch on the driver side. The owner also told us there'd be a new timing belt on the car (which our mechanic is checking for us now) but I'm dubious he's done it with the other niggly bits.

So over the weekend we had a puncture so took it to the local garage & asked him to check the aircon & the window.....garage has called & said the aircon pipe is broken & the switch on the passenger side for the window was broken. Now the garage we bought the car off is 50 miles away (100 round trip). If I have to take the car back it means taking the other car with us to bring us all back & making the return journey to get it back. Wasting my time, my fuel. It had 3 months warrranty which is still running. Can I suggest to the seller that my local garage fixes the errors & bills him as all these should have been corrected before the car was sold? I don't want to waste my time & fuel having to return the car seeing my garage is 2 mins walk from my front door. If he says "no" could CAB or Trading Standards help me seeing he sold a car falsely claiming the car had the air con etc?

I've never had bother before!!!

The dealer you bought it from will have an agreement with a local firm to them to fix things cheaply.

The 3 month warranty sounds like something the garage will fund themselves and not insurance backed so I think you will need to return the car to the supplying dealer/their appointed garage for the repairs.

You may be able to get a courtesy car off them meaning you will not need to take 2 vehicles.

    no offense
but when you bought the car with warranty, you surely realised it would need returned for any work to be done?
you would need to give the company an opportunity to repair the car even if you went the CAB/TS route
