Need some help in estimating prices to refurb a 1930s bungallow in Scotland
It's a good size 3 bed (2 double/1 single) with dining room, lounge, kitchen, bathroom, lean-to scullery.
It need a total modernisation, while keeping as many of the original art neavou features such as fireplaces as possible.
a) New electrics throughout
b) Central heating installed (there is already an oil-fired Aga and immersion tank)
c) New kitchen (approx 20sqm floor plan) to a basic, not luxury, standard
d) new bathroom fixtures and fittings
e) Redo ceilings in a couple of rooms (plaster has dropped from laths)
f) Repaint exterior windows and doors (not keen on the look of UPVC on a house like this)
g) Replace scullery slate roof as water has leaked in for several years
I'd be on-site for the 4(?) months to project manage and do some the basic work.
Is £50K far off the mark?
