Claim Travel Insurance Policy

Hi,

As usual I ask you for advices when it's time to handle delicate issues. I bought a travel to sharm with TravelRepublic and together with the ticket and the rest, I bought a travel insurance too.
Unluckily my young sister in law who lives in Italy got seriously ill and my wife had to come back in Italy to assist her.
It looks like according the policy I can claim the price of the travel back, do you have some suggestions before I call?
Thank you very much.

It depends on what it says in YOUR policy.

Mine covers up to £5,000 for expenses due to curtailment in the event serious illness for immediate family, some may not. Immediate family members include: legal spouse, mother, father, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, among others.

I suggest you have your policy document to hand and details of what you hope to claim before you call your insurer.
