quick MBNA question...

Are MBNA or Egg picky about giving their cards to students?
I'm fairly new to credit - have had my HSBC card for 7 months, and my limit is now £1500, and I was hoping to apply for a conran card or an Egg Money card for the cashback in time for the start of my first year at Uni. Are either of these lenders liable to even give me the time of day?!
Or, should I stick to attainable goals and get a Student Barclaycard instead?
Thanks in advance!

You might have better luck with the normal Egg Card, rather than Egg Money?
I'm sure I read somewhere on these forums that MBNA tend to reject students outright? (Can anyone else help with this?)
