i am just about computer literate, but want to start my own online small business. Where would you recomend i start looking, could you recommend a site that will host me but also include a facility for customers to make payments. Basically an all in one package that will be easy for me to manage at an affordable price.

There's no such thing as an all in one package!
What's your business going to do?
Do you want to learn how to create your own website or do you want one off the shelf?
Are you going to multiple items with lots of varieties or just some unique one-offs?
Are you able to process credit card payments or are you happy to pay someone like Paypal to do them for you?
The more info you give the better answers you'll get (:-)0 -
I think what you're looking for is a storefront package. Most hosting companies will have a basic package which will allow you to setup payment processing as standard, and included in the price. You may still need to use a third party if you don't have a merchant ID though.
One of my sites costs around £7 p/m to host, and has all the features you are likely to need.
You also need to look at traffic, as it may be advisable to have a larger bandwidth allowance in your package if you expect to have a high level of trade.
As Sweven says....more info = better answers!0 -
It also depends how how you want to accept money, that can be the killer things about choosing some one to host the site.0

I will be starting small, but i want something that will allow me to expand in the future. I will be selling mutliple items Lingerie and the like.
For the time being i think i want to let my payments go through paypal.
If i need a large bandwith what would you recommend??0 -
You won't need especially large bandwith, not for a long time at least. I operate a large online store with 1000 unique visitors every day and standard bandwidth is fine.Best wishes,
Malcolm
