JennyW, have you considered sending a letter to the manager of the store to tell them how good the consultant was? My OH got a letter of thanks recently and she was nearly blubbing:rolleyes: :D

Yes I'm going to. Because of the nice lady designer, we got a lovely kitchen and she really discounted it for us :D

just a quick note to say wait until it is fitted before you write a letter of thanks because we had a lovely designer too but by the time it was fitted he had left and half of the ideas were not at all possible even after the fitter too had agreed them! so please as a precaution wait until you see the kitchen up!;)

I just wanted to share my purchasing experiencing with you.

We were after a new kitchen and bedroom furniture so did all the usual shop tours, ie B&Q, Wickes, Magnet, Ikea and MFI.

We gave up with Ikea because there was never a designer to help us, Magnet only supply if they can install, Wickes and B&Q were 6 week delivery times but then there was MFI. Were were really impressed :D we had a 2 hour consultation, got a £600 dishwasher thrown in because we spent £3000 and a delivery date of only 2 weeks away - smashing!

Two days before you ring them and get a delivery slot, also the day before, customer services called to say that one unit would not be on the delivery but would follow in 10 days time. But because I was impressed with the service, it wasn't a problem. Delivery driver turned up, helped unload and went through the check list with us.

so, kitchen and bedroom furniture turned up as expected with nothing missing (except for the unit we were informed about).

So a big thumbs up from me :T

MFI have a happy customer?? This comment should be sent to them so it can be framed.

All in and finished last night - absolutely no problems and spot on :T It looks well smart. We put up the MFI bedroom furniture last week and it was fine too.

This thread is in the 5 star service board so why do people still feel the need to have a moan:confused:

As Whits said, this isn't a moan board. Everyone has good and bad experiences of every company. I just wanted to share mine.
  • We discovered a fault in a dining room chair 12 months after purchase.I rang customer service for advice and the nice young man said he would send me a new chair free of charge:D though it might take 2 -4 weeks to deliver.
It arrived 2 days later:T Very happy

I think that it is a measure of the esteem that MFI is held as a retailer that they today sold all their stores for £1. (not forgetting the £76 million that they are paying the purchasers to re-vamp the stores).
I can only think that it was one of their better sale offers and that the purchasers will have to wait 6/8 weeks for delivery and that the £78million covers breakages and damaged goods!

Obviuosly some people are having real problems with this 5 star service board, if you can't be positive then go away children.
